This is a one-part daytime course on:
Saturday June 20th
10am – 4pm
Learn how to carve a printing block from stamp material by hand, using a selection of relief cutting tools. You will be shown different ways to transfer your image to the block for carving, using tracing and other transfer methods. This technique can be used to create exciting repeat patterns.
Once the block is carved, you will be shown how to mount your printing block onto wood, which will help with the printing, and give the feel of an authentic stamp.
Next you will be shown how to ink up the stamp using relief ink, and print your artwork onto fabric.
There will be some sample fabric for you to do test prints onto, however we advise that you bring any fabrics that you wish to print onto. The best fabrics include natural fibres, such as cotton, wool, linen, silk etc.
