Louise Dodds (vocals), Elchin Shirinov (piano).
Louise Dodds & Elchin Shirinov are a vocal / piano duo, comprised of Scottish jazz vocalist and songwriter Louise Dodds (Scottish Jazz Awards nominee 2022 and 2023) and Azerbaijani pianist, composer and arranger Elchin Shirinov (All About Jazz Top 200 living pianists/Avishai Cohen Trio). In 2023 the duo released the critically acclaimed album Two Hours After Midnight, a collection of traditional Scottish songs rearranged by Elchin with influences of jazz, classical and Azerbaijani folk. Following on from the success of the album, they were commissioned to write new songs on the subject of ‘Belonging’ through the PRS Foundation, with lyrics by Louise and music by Elchin. In January 2024 they released the single Nowhere to Hide after multiple requests from fans.
This performance is part of the ‘Belonging’ tour, and the duo will also perform a selection of songs from Two Hours After Midnight.
