With Frances Arnold
This is a one day course on:
Saturday January 30th
10am – 4pm
In this introduction to Tetra Pak printmaking with landscapes, take inspiration from old master Drypoint printmakers Druer and Rembrant and contemporary landscape artists working with this intaglio technique.
Tetra Pak prints have the wonderful ability to incorporate drawing into lo-fi printmaking, making it suitable for experienced drawers and beginner printmakers alike. The technique emphasises hand drawn lines and can incorporate the carton’s quirky textures and shapes.
Learn how to transfer and etch a landscape drawing onto Tetra Pak cartons, and how to ink up your Tetra Pak plate to prepare for printing through the press.
You’ll be supported to experiment with landscape imagery in relation to both the size and texture of your Tetra Pak plate and the use of ink to create sharp lines or painterly effects. You’ll leave feeling confident translating a sketch into an intaglio print and applying ink to a Tetra Pak plate to achieve your desired effect
All abilities welcome.
