With Mark Bletcher
This is a one-part daytime course on:
Saturday, April 11th
10am – 4pm
A one-day workshop exploring surrealist strategies for generating new imagery. We will work through several short, structured exercises to break habitual ways of drawing and encourage unexpected results, using materials such as graphite, charcoal, ink, and simple paint washes.
After the break, you’ll select, develop, and push one of your earlier drawings towards a more resolved artwork. This workshop focuses on process, experimentation, and building a repeatable method of working — rather than creating a single polished image.
Suitable for all abilities, including those who feel stuck or want to refresh their approach to making work.
Through the day, you’ll: Learn a set of practical surrealist image-generation techniques Work with drawing media and ink to create unexpected visual forms Identify and refine imagery that has potential for further development Produce a final drawing or painted study to take forward after the session
All abilities welcome.
All materials provided.
Included in this course: 10% discount card for art materials bought from Details Art Shop
