Learn to paint a treasured possession and create a lasting memento of it in this oil painting workshop led by artist Rory Williams. Participants are invited to bring an object of personal significance and learn to paint it from life. Through guided instruction, you’ll explore how to observe and capture form, colour, light and shadow, developing the skills needed to bring your subject to life on canvas.
The objects we hold onto often carry memories, stories and a sense of connection to people or places. This workshop offers a chance to spend time with one of these objects, looking at it in a new way through the process of painting. You’ll learn the fundamentals of working with oils while creating a painting that holds a personal meaning beyond the image itself.
