Come along and take part in our evening life drawing courses! By popular demand, these courses run weekly! We have a wide range of life models, so each week will be different!
The event is facilitated by an artist, who will be invigilating the session. Feel free to attend for the full session, or simply drop in when you want to. Booking essential. Spaces limited!

Booking for the first time? Here is some information to prepare you for the session…
Starting of Session:
The facilitator will start the introduction at 6PM, please arrive 5-10 minutes before to find your easel, set up your drawing board and select your materials. If the facilitator is not present in the life drawing studio you can locate the Art Course Coordinator in in the office on the 1st floor of the studio block, they will help you get set up. If you would prefer to work sitting down please let the facilitator or Art Course Coordinator aware and they will locate you a stool or chair for the evening.
The art centre provides newsprint, cartridge paper and a selection of pencils, charcoal and other drawing materials to use throughout the session. The first half of the session will be a series of shorter poses so please grab a handle of sheets of newsprint to get started with. You are welcome to bring along your own drawing materials if you would prefer.
At around 730PM there will be a 15 minute break. If you require a break beforehand please feel free to step out of the studio and sit in the seated area just outside the studio.
Arriving Late:
Do not worry! We understand that we can’t always be on time, but to ensure the privacy of the life model please locate the Art Course Coordinator in the office on the 1st floor of the office block to escort you into the session.
End of Session:
Please tidy up after yourself. Return easels and drawing tables to the back of the studio. Please ask the facilitator if you need help locating where to return equipment and materials.
Life Drawing Room Etiquette – please be aware the art centre has the right to ban any attendee caught breaking any of the below rules.
- All attendees MUST BE over the age of 18 years old
- No photography or phone-calls to be taken in the life drawing room. Phones are to be placed on ‘do not disturb’ and to remain in your bag.
- Do not comment on the life model’s appearance
- Do not ask the life model any personal questions and keep any conversation with the model artistic or academic in nature
- Do not touch the model or invade the life models personal space, before, during or after the session.
- Be respectful of the space and try not to block other attendees view of the model
