With Bethany Stead
This is a four-part evening course on:
Wednesdays, March 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st
6pm – 9pm
Explore the freedom and expressive potential of drawing on a larger scale in this three session course. Designed to build confidence and encourage experimentation, the course will take you beyond traditional drawing formats and introduce a range of approaches to mark-making, observation and composition.
The first session focuses on developing confidence through expressive mark-making, gesture and exploring ways to scale up reference images. You’ll then investigate space, perspective and depth, learning how to create a convincing sense of scale and three-dimensionality within your drawings.
The second session explores tone, form and a variety of drawing media, experimenting with how different materials can be used to describe light, texture, weight and volume. In the final session, you’ll bring these techniques together to develop a larger finished drawing, followed by a supportive group critique and discussion.
Suitable for beginners and those with some drawing experience, this course is an opportunity to experiment, take risks and develop a more confident and personal approach to drawing.
