With Rory Williams
This is a one-part daytime course on:
Saturday July 4th
10am – 4pm
Discover new ways of approaching portrait painting in this focused, hands-on workshop with artist Rory Williams.
Designed for painters who already feel comfortable working with oils, this intermediate session offers the opportunity to build on your existing portraiture skills and learn about contemporary approaches to representing the human form. Over the course of the day, you’ll work on a single oil portrait from reference, with demonstrations, feedback, and individual guidance provided throughout.
The workshop will focus on refining observation, developing more nuanced colour relationships, and strengthening structure, form, and likeness. Participants will also be encouraged to explore more expressive and contemporary approaches to portraiture, considering how colour, brushwork, and composition can shape the character and presence of a painting.
This workshop is ideal for those who have previously taken the Beginners Oil Portraits class, or for anyone with some experience in oil painting who is looking to take the next step in developing their portrait practice.
All abilities welcome.
All materials provided.
Included in this course: 10% discount card for art materials bought from Details Art Shop
