With Nick Christie
This is a one-part daytime course on:
Saturday, October 24th
10am – 4pm
Cyanotype, also known as ‘Sun Printing’ is a 19th century camera-less photographic printing process that produces cyan-blue (Prussian blue) prints using UV light, typically sunlight. In this workshop, participants will be shown how to prepare the photographic solution and coat their paper.
Using a combination of photo negatives, drawing, mark making and writing, you will be able to create unique imagery and your own ‘blue print’.
Please bring any objects of interest to you, including flowers, plants, jewellery (transparent objects work very well). You can also bring any photo negatives you have too, as these will work with this process. These objects will not be damaged during development.
We will be exposing the cyanotype paper under a UV lamp and then rinsing in water to develop. If it is sunny we can go outside!
Participants will be able to take home multiple artworks that they have made.
All abilities welcome.
All materials provided.
Included in this course: 10% discount card for art materials bought from Details Art Shop
