PLEASE BE AWARE THIS AN INTERMEDIATE ART COURSE.

WE RECOMMEND ATTENDING ART ESSENTIALS BASIC DRAWING SKILLS PART 1 BEFORE BOOKING ONTO THIS COURSE.

Some artists struggle when it comes to using tone – asking questions such as ‘how many tones should I use?’, or ‘why do I struggle with creating darker tones?’
This course will answer your questions, and show you how to create accurate tones, using a range of drawing materials. We’ll include how to accurately represent tone, how to use tone effectively and how to key your drawing.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a better understanding of tonal theory, how it works, and (hopefully) will have completed a simple drawing that demonstrates this in a practical way.

All abilities welcome.
All materials provided.

Booking Procedure – What happens next?

What should you bring with you on the day?
Nothing at all! We provide all the materials you need for every course. We do recommend wearing clothing that is easily washed – just in case!

Lunch
Lunch is not provided.

Refreshments
Refreshments are not provided, however we provide water for our attendants.

Where do the art courses take place?
All courses take place in Studio A or Studio B on the Second Floor of our Studio Block. This can be reached through the Black Swan Courtyard (on Westgate Road).

Parking
We recommend parking in the Grainger Town Multi-Storey (NE1 4DP) – 5 Minute walk from Newcastle Arts Centre.

Cancelling a course booking?
If you are not able to come to a course you have booked just get in touch with us as soon as you can. We will try to arrange a full refund where possible. Need to cancel your booking? You must inform us at least one week before the course’s start date to guarantee a refund.
